Recipes with Honey

1) HONEY AND TEA

One or two teaspoons of rich, pure Greek honey per cup is always a good addition to our tea, according to our preferences of course. Here’s a tip:
Make sure to add the honey after the leaves have had a chance to steep (~10min later) and the water has cooled slightly.

If the water is too hot, it can vanish the phytochemicals we’re after in the first place and alter the honey’s taste, making it slightly bitter. And keep in mind that, because herbal tea has no caffeine, you can drink as much -warm or cold- as you want every day!!!

2) HONEY IN YOGURT

Simplicity is perfection, and we refer to creamy Greek yogurt drizzled with sweet rich honey and sprinkled with crispy walnuts, dried fruits, cereals and anything else you might think, like or imagine!

6) HONEY IN SALADS AS VINAIGRETTE

Such a simple, flavorful vinaigrette is the ultimate dressing for any kind of green salad and not only.

Combining rich, pure Greek honey with balsamic vinegar, mustard, extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper in the analogies you prefer, you enrich the taste of your salad, roasted vegetables and anything else you can imagine, to a superlative degree that any chef would envy.

7) HONEY IN MARINADE

It is well known that honey helps to extend the shelf life of the marinade. Due to its preservative properties, honey can help marinades last longer and at the same time it adds the perfect amount of sweetness.

Simply add the appropriate amount of honey to your favorite mix! Combine it with Soy, Garlick, Sesame, Olive oil, Onion, Mustard, Herbs, everything (!!!), and you do your magic to anything might touch your grill or get into your oven. Remember! The richest (pure Greek honey), the better.

8) HONEY IN COCKTAILS

Honey’s rich viscosity and distinctive taste provide a magical sweetener compared to sugar, giving a depth of flavour that the white stuff cannot deliver. It’s a fresh twist on cocktails that day by day is taking its place in the most sophisticated recipes.

“Using honey in modern cocktail mixing is a simple way to coax the rich organic history of flavour from even the most rarified firewater.” Golden nectar has been a valuable ingredient in craft cocktails since their early days, and there’s always a great reason for that.

9) HONEY IN A RECIPE WHICH IS A WHOLE CHAPTER BY IT SELF

Apart from the rest ideas regarding – I would say – the “any kind of recipes”, I will give you a tip that I, as a pure Greek and a lover of delicious and easy dishes, adore. So, make a note:
Take a slice of feta cheese a bit less than1 cm thick, wrap it in a pie crust, fry it until it gets the right color and when it’s done, put it on a plate, add some sesame seeds and spread honey on top.

This is where all other Greek flavors bow to the perfection of the 5-minute cooking time (according to my taste buds). I take an oath though that you will definitely remember me. Of course, there are so many ways to enjoy the above products, we just, as friends, give you some ideas and some solutions. You, investigate even further and for anything you are not too sure about, ask the experts.
